how your money was spent (2019)

One important measure to look at are the areas which are your financial priorities. We use a “Narrative Budget” to represent a line item budget in simple, descriptive terms.  Hopefully, this approach makes clear the church’s priorities.

A Home for the Church – Facility:  Having a place to worship, study and base our mission.  A place to gather for carrying out the ministries and mission of church that give definition to our spiritual and communal life; and serve as a resource for community activities.  (Mortgage, utilities, maintenance, and improvements to church property.)

Build Up the Body of Christ – Ministry & Personnel:  People to represent the church, provide richness to our worship and encourage members to a deeper relationship with Christ.  Provide for the sharing that leads ourselves and our new friends to a rich life in Christ.  (Includes all wages, salaries, payroll taxes, benefits for church staff, and outsourced professional services.)

Be the Church – Mission:  Share our bounty with those nearby and around the world, particularly those without the opportunities, resources or means that we have.  (Includes, but not limited to, mission, service and justice work.)

Conduct the Business of the Church – Administration/Office:  Provide support and administrative operations to conduct church business; preserve the assets of the church and support its mission.  (Includes, but not limited to, office supplies, insurance, payroll service, custodian, and office manager salaries.)

"Join us any Sunday to worship and be fed by our living God!"  —Pastor Alex
